In brief
Recognising what is neurological behind a musculoskeletal presentation changes how you treat, and sometimes whether you refer on. Physio Learning offers three courses in this field: neurological presentations in MSK practice, neurology and geriatrics, and maxillofacial rehabilitation. All are eligible for the DPC, the French three-yearly continuing professional development obligation (provider no. 99GX), and for the FIFPL, the training fund for self-employed practitioners.

Every musculoskeletal physiotherapist. Neurological triage is not reserved for practitioners working in neurology: it is precisely in MSK practice that a neurological presentation goes unnoticed.

Neurological rehabilitation, a recognised field of practice
“Neurological rehabilitation” is one of the fields of practice (spécificités d’exercice) recognised by the Conseil national de l’Ordre des masseurs-kinésithérapeutes, the national council of the French physiotherapy regulator (opinion of 30 March 2021 on fields of practice).
Training regularly in this area means building up, course after course, your hours in that field of practice. The Physio Learning app records those hours in your skills map, area by area, as each course is completed.
How a field of practice comes to be recognised is a matter for the Ordre des masseurs-kinésithérapeutes.

Who are the neurology courses for?

Does the maxillofacial rehabilitation course require any prerequisites?
No. The course starts from the assessment and goes through to making the patient self-sufficient.
