In brief
Telling musculoskeletal pain apart from pain of vascular origin changes how you treat, and sometimes where you refer. Physio Learning offers two complementary courses: the vascular triage e-learning course, among the most widely taken in the catalogue, and its level 2 on-site counterpart, eligible for the DPC, the French three-yearly continuing professional development obligation.
What this covers, in practical terms
Spotting vascular red flags behind a musculoskeletal presentation, structuring the history taking and carrying out a focused clinical examination: peripheral arterial disease of the lower limbs (in French, AOMI), chronic exertional compartment syndrome, popliteal artery entrapment, aortic aneurysms and venous thromboembolic disease.
The level 2 on-site course consolidates all of this through practice: triage on clinical cases and screening manoeuvres, including blood pressure measurement and the ankle-brachial pressure index (ABPI).
Vascular care, a recognised area of practice
“Vascular and lymphatic rehabilitation” is one of the areas of practice recognised by the Conseil national de l’Ordre des masseurs-kinésithérapeutes, the French professional regulator (opinion of 30 March 2021, listed there as “Rééducation vasculaire / lymphatique”).
Training regularly in this field means building up your hours in this area of practice, course after course. The Physio Learning app records those hours in your skills web, axis by axis, as each course is completed.
The conditions under which an area of practice is recognised are a matter for the Ordre des masseurs-kinésithérapeutes.

Do you have to complete level 1 before the on-site course?
Yes: the level 2 on-site course consolidates through practice what the level 1 e-learning course covers on vascular triage.
Can these courses be funded?
The level 1 e-learning course is eligible for the FIFPL and for Pro-Q Kiné, the Belgian quality programme for physiotherapists; the level 2 on-site course is eligible for the DPC and the FIFPL. The details are set out on each course page.
