Sports physiotherapy courses
and athletic reconditioning
Structuring the return to activity, dosing load and making the return to play safe: five 100% evidence-based courses, eligible for DPC and FIFPL funding, on-site and online alike.
In brief
Athletic reconditioning is not improvised once rehabilitation is over: it is planned from the initial assessment onwards. Physio Learning offers five courses along this continuum: return to sport, step-by-step reconditioning, low back pain in athletes, hamstring injuries and blood flow restriction (BFR). All are eligible for the DPC, the French continuing professional development obligation, under provider no. 99GX, and for the FIFPL, the French training fund for self-employed professionals.
What this covers,
in practice
Sports physiotherapy is a recognised area of practice, a “spécificité d'exercice”, listed by the Conseil national de l'Ordre des masseurs-kinésithérapeutes, the French physiotherapy regulator.
What this field covers
- The full continuum: from acute injury to return to play, with no gap between rehabilitation and performance.
- Load dosing: how much, when and how quickly to progress without stirring the injury up again.
- Return criteria: what genuinely clears a patient to go back to sport, beyond the calendar.
- Preventing recurrence, which is decided in the weeks following the return, not before.
Who it is for
Any physiotherapist who sees active patients, from the weekend runner to the competitive athlete. You do not need to work with a club: load reasoning applies to any return to activity.
What changes in your practice
You will know when to progress a patient, on which tests, and how to explain to the patient why the return to sport rests on criteria rather than on a date.
Sports physiotherapy, a recognised area of practice
“Kinésithérapie du sport”, sports physiotherapy, is one of the areas of practice recognised by the Conseil national de l'Ordre des masseurs-kinésithérapeutes (opinion of 30 March 2021 on areas of practice).
Training regularly in this field means building up your hours in this area of practice, course after course. The Physio Learning app records those hours in your skills web, axis by axis, as each course is completed.
The conditions under which an area of practice is recognised are a matter for the Ordre des masseurs-kinésithérapeutes.
Select courses and project your hours towards the speciality. 80 h is the milestone we set ourselves, so that a speciality is genuinely within reach with our catalogue.
0 h/ 80 h
Our catalogue currently covers 72 h on this pathway, and we are working on it.
New courses are in preparation to reach 80 h. Tell us which ones would help you most: your feedback shapes what opens next.

Are these courses eligible for the DPC?
Yes. Physio Learning is registered as a DPC provider under no. 99GX and is Qualiopi-certified. Each course page states its action reference, which you enter on mondpc.fr when you register.
Do you already need to work with athletes in order to enrol?
No. The reasoning behind load dosing and progression applies to any return to activity, sporting or not. The clinical cases covered range from recreational activity to competition.
On-site or e-learning?
Both formats exist, depending on the course. On-site sessions and virtual classrooms carry an allowance from the ANDPC, the agency that runs the DPC; e-learning does not, unless it is an EPP action (evaluation of professional practice). The details are in the 2026 DPC guide.
