🎯 What is the FIF PL, and who is eligible?
The FIF PL (Fonds Interprofessionnel de Formation des Professionnels Libéraux) is the body that funds continuing education for the self-employed professions in France. As a self-employed physiotherapist, you fall under NAF code 8690E fifpl.fr: it is your vocational training contribution (CFP), collected each year by URSSAF, that feeds this fund and opens your entitlement.
In practice, for your clinic:
- Self-employed practice owner: eligible as soon as your CFP contribution is up to date.
- Self-employed locum: you also pay the CFP as a self-employed professional; keep the CFP payment certificate issued by URSSAF, as it is required when putting the application together.
- Micro-entrepreneur (micro-BNC): eligible, but funding is proportional to your CFP contribution fifpl.fr according to the scale below.
💶 The 2026 FIF PL ceilings for physiotherapists
The annual budget is individual: each professional has their own allowance, granted within the limits of the profession’s overall budget fifpl.fr, hence the value of filing your applications early in the year.
The dedicated « long courses » fund
Good news if you are preparing a long course (a qualifying course or major further study): this fund is not deducted from your 2026 annual budget, and funding is available once every 3 years fifpl.fr.
✅ The conditions you must meet to be funded
- Minimum duration of 6 hours: in a single day, or as 3 consecutive 2-hour modules, or as 2 consecutive 3-hour modules fifpl.fr. Courses lasting at least 3 hours remain eligible, funded as a half-day fifpl.fr.
- Qualiopi-certified provider: only courses delivered by Qualiopi-certified providers, whose programme meets the profession’s criteria, can be funded fifpl.fr. Check this before enrolling: Physio Learning is Qualiopi-certified.
- Exclusions: conferences, round tables, symposia and congresses without a workshop are excluded (only workshops are fundable), as are courses already funded through your CPF account, along with general IT and foreign languages fifpl.fr.
🗓️ Step by step: mind the 10-day deadline
- Check that the course is eligible: Qualiopi-certified provider, compliant duration (6 hours minimum, or 3 hours for a half-day) fifpl.fr, and a subject that meets the profession’s 2026 criteria.
- Gather the documents: CFP payment certificate (URSSAF), detailed course programme, quotation or invoice from the provider. Your training provider will supply the programme and quotation on request.
- Create your account and file the application online on the FIF PL portal, no later than 10 calendar days after the 1st day of the course service-public.gouv.fr.
- Attend the course and keep your proof of attendance.
- After the course: submit the attendance and payment certificate signed by the training provider service-public.gouv.fr. Reimbursement follows, within the ceilings and the profession’s budget.
🔄 Combining FIF PL and DPC in the same year: possible, with one condition
The two allowances are independent: you can draw on both the FIF PL and the ANDPC in the same calendar year. However, double funding of the same day is prohibited: the number of days of a course funded by the FIF PL must correspond to days not funded by the ANDPC fifpl.fr.
As a reminder, in 2026 the DPC gives you an annual entitlement of 14 funded hours agencedpc.fr: a common strategy is to use up your DPC hours first (which include an allowance), then fund your further courses through the FIF PL.
