Why this course?

An essential course to master every aspect of the management of endometriosis.

La formation en situation

A condition that is still far too little known

Despite scientific advances and the availability of reliable screening tools, this condition remains widely under-diagnosed and often poorly understood, by the general public as much as by many healthcare professionals.

It takes 7 to 12 years on average for a diagnosis to be made in France. That delay means years of being passed from one clinician to the next, prolonged suffering and a considerable impact on patients' quality of life.

Around 1 to 2 women in 10 are affected, but the condition also affects some men, who are often identified and managed even less well.

Physiotherapists, osteopaths, midwives , etc. are on the front line to spot the signs, refer patients on and play a part in relieving them.

Your practice today

  • Patients left in a long diagnostic limbo
  • Doubts about the mechanisms and the pathophysiology
  • A lack of clear, reliable screening tools
  • Pain management that is often fragmented

After the course

  • Targeted, structured screening and history-taking
  • A solid understanding of the anatomy and the physiology
  • EBP treatment tools (exercise, education)
  • Smooth, effective multidisciplinary coordination

Learning outcomes

Physiology & Anatomy

Revisit pelvic anatomy and the physiology of the menstrual cycle to grasp the pain mechanisms.

Clinical Forms

Identify the forms, the risk factors and the areas of proliferation for detection and prevention.

Assessment & Screening

Take a targeted history, use the validated tools and interpret the investigations (MRI, ultrasound…).

EBP management

Work out a treatment consistent with the scientific evidence and the patient's functional needs.

Techniques & Education

Apply physiotherapy techniques, therapeutic patient education and lifestyle and dietary advice.

Coordination

Work with the other professionals and guide patients towards self-management.

Content of the 2 days

This course is aimed both at therapists who work in pelvic floor care and at those who do not. No internal work is required. We do nevertheless include a section on internal work for therapists trained in it, along with self-exercises to prescribe.

01Physiology and anatomy

Anatomy of the pelvis + female hormonal physiology, so that you find your way around with ease and know your subject inside out.

02Endometriosis

Straight to the heart of the matter: endometriosis — what it is, what its pathophysiology is, what its consequences are, and much more.

Bonus: understanding the pain mechanisms of endometriosis.

03Screening, triage and diagnosis

Here we want to give you every symptom, every question, every questionnaire, every medical investigation (even the most innovative ones), with a thorough explanation of their strengths and their limits and of how to apply them in the clinic.

04Treatment

The treatments for endometriosis. We have combed through the literature to cover medical and surgical treatment, manual therapy, exercise, diet… and much more, including the most innovative and best-evidenced methods!

05Surprise Bonus!

The patients for whom you have already tried everything.

Some of the cost may remain payable by you, depending on the course price and the amount funded. The attendance allowance is paid by the Agence, at its own rates and for on-site courses only.
